Healthy Turkey Taco Salad
I’ve never been a taco fanatic – BUT, I do love a hearty scrumptious taco salad! While I adore taco salad, most of the time, it’s loaded with unwanted calories & saturated fats from tortilla chips, ground beef, heavy cheeses & sour cream. So, I’ve found the perfect alternative to one of my favorite Tex-Mex recipes. A simple switch to lean ground turkey, reduced-fat cheese & light sour cream then you’re on your way to a healthier fiesta.
Another perk to this yummy meal is that it’s easy to whip up & only takes 30 mins to make – all in one pot! How fantastic is that? A great solution to one of those lazy night’s when you just don’t feel like slaving away in the kitchen.
Also, you get to customize your taco meal with whatever toppings your heart desires. All in moderation of course! 😉 Here are some healthy additions you might want to add:
- Reduced Fat Shredded Cheese
- Cilantro
- Green Onions
- Light Sour Cream
- Greek Yogurt
- Avocado
- Romaine Lettuce
- Tomatoes
- Corn
- Black Beans
- Jalapeños
- Salsa
- Fresh Lime Juice
